If you are like me, perhaps you buy adorable clothing items at frugal prices that may be a size or too to small. Obviously it wasn’t intentional, but your proper size simply was not available. Or, maybe you do not buy the incorrect size clothing but you are still interested in toning up for bathing suit season. Either/or, this hub may be helpful for you.

GET TONED UP

Today I tried on my new summer bathing suit and I realized that something must be done to tone up my behind. I’ve taken yoga classes before which were very beneficial and had many perks. Besides feeling great and getting healthy to the core, yoga exercise is a great workout because it is gentle. You may feel like you aren’t working hard since you will not be sweating profusely like you are after running a couple of miles. This isn’t the case though. Yoga exercises clear your mind, leave you feeling focused, relaxed and sublime but physically enhance your body as well.

BEGIN WITH SIMPLE YOGA POSES

Although yoga exercises can get more complex, there are a few simple ones which you can begin when practicing yoga.

My favorite yoga exercises are: Staff Pose, Downward-Facing Dog, Cobra, Cow Pose, Child’s Pose, Corpse Pose. More complex poses included the Peacock and Camel poses.

There are some great Hubs that go in depth on how to do Yoga poses so please check them out for proper instruction.

TOOLS FOR YOGA

Some people prefer to get dedicated gear for their yoga workout such as yoga pants and a yoga mat. Many people find that by having the right equipment their confidence and motivation is boosted and they become more serious about participating in yoga.

Other people make do with what they have. When it comes down to it, any comfortable, loose-fitting clothing works fine and a mat is not necessary. A carpeted floor works too, but if you are taking yoga classes then having your own mat may be beneficial.

**

Shoes are not needed for yoga as you have much more freedom without them on. Poses can be completed more successfully without the restrictions of sneakers.

OTHER MEANS OF GETTING INSHAPE

Some people prefer more active means of working out, such as kickboxing, in which the participants kick and punch their way into shape. They generally sweat profusely and really burn off the calories.

If you are sitting here shivering like me, get up and run on the treadmill for a few minutes. Perhaps use the dumbbells as an additional means of toning up your arms and kill two birds with one stone. Tone up your legs and your arms all at once.

HIT THE GYM

Continue your regular workout routine, but why not beef it up a little? Target the areas that specifically need additional work whether it is your stomach, buttocks, arms, or legs.

Basicaly, just get off your butt and do something. It doens't matter what it is as long as you are moving. Get up and get moving into your new summer body.

Thanks for the hub with great tips on yoga. I do practice it but not nearly as often as I should to get all the benefits. I do try to keep a balance with yoga and cardio/strength training. All three are beneficial.

Thanks! Even if you just practice breathing during your day it helps. If you try to be aware of breathing and tell your body to relax (not tense) it really helps! I've been doing that lately and actually feel more relaxed but I too need to practice yoga more often.
